Improved access for all users is the goal of some upcoming changes on Butterfield Crossing Drive.
In the coming weeks, that roadway will be restriped between North Meadows and Buttercup drives to add a multimodal striped shoulder, which can be used for bicycling, as well as some on-street parking. These changes will be implemented along both sides of the street where conditions permit.
Narrowing the roadway with striping and adding parking should help to slow traffic, improving conditions for all types of users – including pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers. This should be especially true in the area of Meadow View Elementary School, where the existing crossing will be enhanced with a modified striping layout.
The Town’s goal is to complete this work by the end of August or sooner, weather permitting.
