Council approves plan for Castle Rock’s future

When making daily decisions about our community, it’s important to keep the big picture in mind. With a year of research, analysis and public outreach complete, Town Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a document to do just that.

The Comprehensive Master Plan is the Town’s overall guiding document. It defines the community’s broad and long-term direction and is used to guide the Town’s growth, development, land use and planning efforts.

Over the past year, the Town has been gathering feedback and working to update that plan for 2030. Planning Commission recommended approval during its public meeting Oct. 12. Town Council approved it during its public meeting Nov. 14.

The draft plan is built upon Four Cornerstones: a distinct identity, responsible growth, community services and a thriving economy. The community validated the Four Cornerstones during various outreach efforts related to the update. The Comprehensive Master Plan includes an overall goal for each cornerstone, along with steps to achieve the goal.

Get details and read the plan online at CRgov.com/CompPlan. In addition, printed editions of the Comprehensive Master Plan will be available later this year at local businesses, the library, Town Hall and other public places.
