FitGround at Philip S. Miller Park

Help us bring a new feature to Philip S. Miller Park!

With Castle Rock's continued prioritization of health and active living, and to continue to meet the needs of the growing community, the Town is partnering with the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation to bring an outdoor FitGround course to Philip S. Miller Park.

As shown in these renderings, the FitGround provide bodyweight and free-form tools for performing resistance exercises designed to build strength, balance, mobility, agility and muscular endurance. When combined with the trails and Challenge Hill, users will get a full-body workout on their own or in fun group classes.

Next steps

The Parks and Trails Foundation needs your help to fund additional equipment for the outdoor fitness area. This fall, the Town will prepare the area for construction through leveling, irrigation and sod changes, and synthetic turf placement within the FitGround area, while the Foundation continues to raise money to purchase the equipment.

Depending on funding, the FitGround could be ready for use in early spring 2019! The estimated equipment cost is $65,000. The Foundation's goal is to raise at least 50 percent of these funds to kick off equipment installation.
