Roadwork will require partial closures. Thank you for your patience!
As part of the Town’s annual investment in preventative maintenance, Emerald Drive is being reconstructed. Crews will remove the existing concrete and replace it with asphalt. Work is expected to start Monday, April 10, and wrap up by early August.
Access is our priority
Maintaining access to residential areas is a priority for the Town, so the reconstruction will take place in sections. In an effort to complete this work safely and efficiently, one section at a time will be closed to through traffic.
We had originally communicated we’d be working on Section Five, between Diamond Head Drive and Plum Creek Parkway, until July 24. Due to some rainy weather, that schedule has changed. Now, we expect to be done with that section on July 26. (Of course, this timeline also depends on weather.) Scroll down for a detour map.
Then, crews will begin the last phase of the project – an asphalt overlay on the west end of Emerald Drive, along with Emerald Court and a top mat of asphalt over the entire stretch that has been reconstructed.
All work on Emerald Drive is expected to wrap up the week of Aug. 7. Thank you for your patience!
This project is expected to last through early August. View below a map of how the work is expected to progress.
Annual pavement maintenance
This roadwork is part of the Town’s annual Pavement Maintenance Program. This Council-approved program concentrates residential road maintenance to one of five defined residential areas each year on a rotating basis. The goal is to increase efficiency, reduce costs and minimize disruption to neighborhoods.
Overall, the maintenance extends the life of Town roads and helps get the most out of the Town’s investment in infrastructure.
