Part of fighting fires is to prevent them from ever starting. Community safety as a whole is another great concern. That's why the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department has a dedicated division for fire and life safety education.
What we do:

This week's safety tip:
As the weather gets nicer, we’re all thinking about letting in that fresh, spring air. As we gear up to open our windows for the season, remember to use caution with kids.
Window falls account for nearly 10 deaths and 3,300 injuries each year. Falls from a window can be extremely dangerous but also preventable. The Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department reminds us of these safety tips:
Keep furniture away from windows to avoid children climbing up to get to the windows.
Do not rely on the screens in your windows to keep a child safe. Those can easily be popped out if pushed on.
Each Tuesday, we encourage everyone to take a moment and talk about it. This week, we encourage you to talk about window safety. We’ll keep the topics and tips coming. Learn more about CRFD at CRgov.com/fire.
