Planning Commission

Overview

 
The Planning Commission reviews development requests, zoning change requests, and other related land proposals for future orderly growth and development in the Town of Castle Rock, as outlined in the Municipal Code. The Planning Commission holds public hearings, may request modifications to proposals, and works to reach consensus on an advisory recommendation to Town Council.

Public comment is welcome

We believe in open government and encourage citizens and members of the public to attend Planning Commission meetings to provide input on agenda items or other matters affecting the Town. 

Speaking before Planning Commission

If you would like to address Planning Commission on matters relevant to Town business we ask that you: 

  • Please arrive prior to the start of the meeting and sign in to speak 
  • Please speak into the microphone and direct your comments to the Commission

There are opportunities for the public to speak during Planning Commission meetings. The following guidelines allow the Commission to address and effectively manage and complete the business on the agenda.

Advertised public hearings and discussion action items 

  • This time is reserved for public comment on most items scheduled on the agenda
  • Each speaker is allowed five minutes to address Commission
  • Comments must be related to the agenda item content

Special presentations

  • A power point presentation during public comment must be submitted for approval 24 hours in advance  
  • Materials or handouts should be given to the Recording Clerk prior to the start of the meeting
  • The Town reserves the right not to approve a presentation
