Ronin and Officer Thompson

Officer Todd Thompson began his law enforcement career with the Castle Rock Police Department in March 2001.

In 2008, Officer Thompson retired his longtime partner and Town favorite, Jax, after six years of dedicated service. In October 2008, Jax's replacement, Legion, joined the department. After five years of devoted service, Legion was formally retired from the department. Legion continues to live with Officer Thompson.

Ronin, a Belgian Malinois and German shepherd mix, was sworn in as our newest police service dog on Aug. 19, 2014. Ronin was born in 2012 in the Netherlands. He also lives with Officer Thompson.

Shogun and Officer Fellows

Officer Matthew Fellows began his law enforcement career with the Castle Rock Police Department in October 2014.

Prior to being selected as the newest member of the K9 Unit in May 2019, Officer Fellows assisted the Castle Rock Police Department as a certified decoy. Officer Fellows assisted in trainings and K9 demonstrations for three years.

In September 2019, Officer Fellows was happily joined by his K9 partner Shogun. Shogun is a Dutch Shepard who was born on January 20, 2018 and is currently training to be a dual purpose Police K9. Officer Fellows and Shogun will be fully certified and ready for patrol in late November. Both are excited to return to the street and resume protecting the citizens of Castle Rock
