Five-Year Strategic Plan

Focus is community
 While a significant part of their roles is to respond to emergencies, the officers at Castle Rock Police Department also take a proactive and strategic approach to their work, making Castle Rock one of the safest places in the nation to live, work and play.

To continue to meet levels of service, the department created a Five-Year Strategic Plan (PDF) that serves as a road map for ensuring community safety as Castle Rock continues to grow and change. It is the first strategic plan in the department’s history. The five-year strategic plan was approved by Town Council on Dec. 17, 2013.
Priorities
Residents and business owners were encouraged to provide input on the plan, which is divided into six strategic priorities:
  • Community policing and partnerships
  • Crime
  • Employees
  • Preparing for future growth
  • Technology and equipment
  • Traffic safety
